So the guy rebuilding my heads told me I need new valve springs...he recommended 140lbs springs for my application. Does this sound correct?I've never heard of springs getting that high in our motors.
 
Don't use 140 lb'ers unless you want to wipe a cam. Go with the 100 lb ones.

Yeah if you're gunna upgrade I would go with the 100lbs springs. You could probably run up to like a 120lbs but I wouldn't go any stiffer than that. But the 100lbs are probably your best bet, and you can just use stock LS1 springs I believe.
 
Nevermind the mechanic figured it out...he calculated for the wrong type of cam/lifters. He looked up the tta/gn cam style and found it different from he thought it to be...110-100 he said from calculation.
