How can I tell what month my 87 GN was made? the door tag is no longer readable....what was the vin range,start of 87 production,to the last car?

The last 6 in my VIN are 464863 and has a build date of 12/87. I know it was one of the late or "extended" build units. It has mandatory options and other mandatory omissions (no carpet savers).

According to Kirban's Guide to 1986 - 1987 Turbo Regals, the late/extended build GNs offered no flexability when it came to options. Buick mandated a certain package due to limited parts availability and need to use up other parts.

I just ck'd the state title records an my car was sold to the first owner 09/25/1987...i don't know how long it took to sell...

Does anyone here have an '87 Turbo Regal with a higher last six VIN #'s than 464863 ?

4632xx built nov 87 . took delivery dec 10th 1987

gm generally ends its model year production aug 31st . if this were any other GM it would be titled as a 88 model

GM stated its last built G body(and last car out of pontiac assembly plant) was a GN vin # 465288 on dec 11th

Hmmmm, interesting. That being the case my GN was 425 from the last G body ever made. The assembly line contained Monte Carlos and Oldsmobile Cutlasses as well, not to mention normally aspirated Regals. With that said, I wonder how close mine was to the last Grand National built???

My 87 Gn is a very early one 420181 build 11-86 delivered to the first owner 12-13-86 with 9 miles on it.Then sold to the second owner april of 88 with 4700.

457117 - Born Sept 11th. That's an easy date to remember. What's the last 6 of yours? Ebay auction 2465648058 was for 1G4GJ117XHP457104, closest to mine I've found so far. Pull the drivers side door panel to find the paper, the date's on it...

Ok, maybe I was confused about the earlier statement about that VIN being the last G body off the line. Wasn't sure if it was a GN though. In conclusion the last G body made was a GN...correct? Would Buick have production numbers for G bodies made in 12/1987?

Well, I contacted Buick Customer Service regarding VIN sequencing etc. in an attempt to find out how close to the end of GN production my car was and I got this back today:

I have an uncle that works at a GM dealer, and his son works at a Buick dealer

I'll ask him for a little information, or if they can get it at all.
