this is to the people who have beat a dodge viper . what size turbo/converter are you using and what 1/4 mile times do you run.

Forget the turbo/convertor only, you better get some traction to go with it.
Heres is a quick start.

50 lbs injects, TE 60-61, 3000 - 3200 stall and slicks and know whats up at the track.

There is a few Vipers down here in south Fl that are wicked mean. One has a blower on it and the other's motor has been worked over and it has 200 shot ..something like 680-700 horse on the ground.

But they spin easy from a dig

TE-44, MSD 50s, Orange Stripe, Nittos. Vipers are 13 second slugs up here. I have seen one bright yellow Viper make at least 10 runs and he has never run lower than a 14

Last Viper I saw run at NED ran in the 15s! I have seen some run in the low 11s, most run high 11s to mid 13s.

Hey roderick whats up , ive seen the viper club running at Westhampton once .The Old style open roof targa ones were going 12.50s in the teens for the mph . The new ones i belive go around 11.80 and trap in the high teens at least thats what road and track is saying . Obviously they trap higher then they ET with those low profile tires . The fastest iv personally seen went 11.30 @ 127 mph and it was modded on slicks If you have a high 11 car youd be covered for a GN to go high 11s on pumpgas with lower boost i guess your gonna need a 11flat high 10 race setup .I raced a Viper on the street with no spoolup with my TA49 stock big neck IC on C16 and he took me by 4 cars so My car was running around 12.80-12.50 on street tires , i dont know if it was stock the viper, i belive it was one i seen at bald hill that had a different intake setup and KNs which may pick it up a bit . The guy commented that my car was fast so even though i lost i got to save a little face .

:D :D :D

NOW THATS WHEN YOU KNOW YOUR CAR IS GETTING SLOW WHEN A NEW STOCK VIPER CAN KEEP UP WITH YOU

A FRIEND SAW A NEW 04 RUN 12.7-8

not bad for this elevation

Johnny

i think it was top of the line one????

A TA49/36# Bluetops/Drag Radials is more than enough to stay in front of 95% of the Vipers that will show up the track. In the 1/8 mile, stock turbo/stock injectors will probably be enough.

It's about tuning your combo. Vipers aren't drag cars.

There ARE VERY FAST VIPERS out there (130+ mph in the 1/4) but they are also 1) well over $100K, 2) not likely to give you the time of day at your local drag strip 3) <5% of vipers.

My neighbor has a '96 GTS. My stock Turbo/injector GN would eat his lunch in the 1/4 with race gas/drag radials.

I am very good friends with a guy who owned, a blown viper with h/c/bolt-ons/lots of tuning. The car was INSANE. We made so much money on that car, street racing in S.Florida..He had kumo radials on it, and was an excellent driver, and I never seen him spin out of the hole. I watched him run anywhere from 10.7-10.4@134 to 136, on kumo's, cutting 1.6 60 ft's @ a track rental one night. He must have made 20 passes, all on pump fuel!

I ran an 04 Viper here at Carlsbad about 3 weeks ago and that thing was insane! He had allot of work done on it come to find out, blower, exhaust and slicks to name a couple. I was expecting to beat him but he beat me by 3 car leangths. His trapping speed was like 134 mph

Hey at least I was kicking his butt off the line, and he nodded his head and gave me a thumbs up for a great run. I know he was suprised by the Buick though and next time, the boost will be turned up to 30-32 psi, vise 24-25 psi :)
