What is the difference between the WE2 and the WE4 on the 87 GNN's?

I read the WE's but don't know what it really means. Do you?

we2 is the rpo code for the GN and has the specific GN black and gray interior .

we4 is a rpo option code for the regal T and was available only in black with charcoal interior buckets and full blackout package
looks a lot like the gn on the outside except for the badges

both share the same turbo intercooled driveline but the we4 is
generally has less options and has some lightweight items which made it a lil faster than the GN when stock

The WE4 option came with the lighter(than the steel GN) Turbo-T alloy wheels, aluminum brake drums and bumper supports. The EPA had a law called, "capacity restraint" that required something like 66% of a car's build run to be under a certain weight(in it's class). Since the GN was so popular(and heavier), Buick had to come up with a lighter-weight version to offset the GN's numbers, or pay some heavy fines. I've hunted all those parts down for my ride, since it's all about power-to-weight ratio! The exception being my GTA rims(cause they're even lighter). Keep 'er between the lines- Al:cool:

WE2 vs WE4

Thanks for the quick replies I have a potential buyer for my '87 GN that is 100% stock with 35K miles in VG condition. Interior rates 10+, exterior 9. I just didn't know the difference when he asked. :)
