weird loud groan

when i backed up tonite and depressed the brake pedal the passenger side front end made a weird loud groaning noise but it doesnt do it when braking going forward. what does this sound like?

were you turning the wheel while you were parking and do you have bigger than stock tires in the front if so the tire could be rubbing the fenderwell , just a thought

It could be the upper rear "A" arm bushing is "burned/worn" out.

charllots-i do have a bigger tire in front that does rub on full lock but this happened also when i went straight backa nd it was only when i was braking. it didnt do it today though but this morning i pressed the brakes going through my neighborhood and the light flashed on for about a second and then went out. im thinking of saving up some money in case and emergency vacuum brake conversion is needed

did you feel a pulsating in the break pedal ? now that the brake lite is coming on it is possible it is the brake accumulator. i assume you check the brake fluid . i believe you have to pump the peddal 10 times before checking the fluid . i had a similar problem started with the pulsating pedal followed by the brake lite a couple adays later. can be fustrating goodluck let me know what happens.
