right now I have the tcc plug disconnected because the solenoid is bad. I don't know if this has anything to do with my problem though. When at WOT it shifts like crap. Lets say I mash the pedal from a slow roll or stop and it burns up the tires...when it shifts the marks are real light where it shifts and while in the car the shift seems REAL long. Like almost 2 seconds till it starts to pull again. If you are going faster and the 2-3 shift it takes a while to shift, then I get a nice chirp and it is off again. Please don't say rebuild...TIA

you may want to install a shift kit or a code a accumulor valve from a 90and up 700r4 if it has a kit already .also put a pint of gm positraction additive in the trans if the oils clean this will firm up shifts along w/the acc valve if trhe oil is clean .www.ckperformance.com

Thanks for the reply. I also forgot to add that (going by the factory tach  ) that the rpms go up very rapidly until about 5.5k (where it seems to start to shift), and then SLOWLY creeps to about 6k (over about 2-3 seconds and the car REALLY slows down during this) and then BAM, chirps the tires and accellerates fine again until it has to shift again. Could this be slipping? Would changing the chip (hypertech) change the shift point? Could this be the problem? Also I'm broke right now and don't have a lot of $$ to spend on a shift kit. How bad is the b&m shift improver kit? The one with the 2 modes: rv/towing or street/strip. Thanks for your help.

Two things to add.

The transmission is not electronically controlled therefore a chip change will not affect the shift points. If your engine valve springs are tired, the car will act silly around the shift points due to valve float.
