I'm detailing my engine compartment while the engine is out and there is some factory putty/filler in several places thats dried and cracking.

Does anyone know what it is and where to get it?

Check R&E Paint Supply online. There is brushable seam sealer that will duplicate what you see. Best prices and service I have ever found for body stuff.

Not one of GM's best looking or functional items is it? 3M makes great seam sealer products as well.
