I found some numbers on the back of the Converter.
#'s PTC 12TH 700-07 And had the #9 where the d5
normally is stamped. Do you know what this converter might be?
It is black in color.And also was a lock up. The guy a the tranny shop said nothing was wrong with the transmission. and that it was my converter??? Is this something worth having fixed or buy another?

That's most likely a PTC converter. Don't concern yourself with the stampings as they are of no significance after a converter has been rebuilt. The original specs (stator config, fin angles) are usually altered for the desired performance characteristics.
