What size / thread bolts for engine in engine stand

What thread bolts would I need to put the engine in an engine stand, don't want to pull one of the bolts to find out

Thought I get everything I need for when / if I pull the engine, already have the engine stand just need to get some bolts for holding the engine in place :biggrin:

3/8-16 for the bellhousing bolts.

Man I couldnt remember if they were 3/8 or 7/16th.. 3/8 sounds correct.. and get them one inch longer than the stud hoses on the engine stand.

Jan,
I also use some washers when I bolt engines onto a stand.
Some engine stands have larger holes than the bolts used for the engine stand. I wanted the bolt heads not to go through the stand.

Thanks guys, I'll get some 3/8" bolts (+1 inch in length) and some thick washers as well !
