I am currently running cr43ts gapped at a very tight .035 but am having a pretty bad knock problem. I recently had the motor rebuilt and had my heads fully ported and polished with bigger valves and a 204/214 cam. Should I get a colder plug like the cr42ts. I just pulled all my plugs out and they don't look bad. And I am currently waiting on a chip that I just ordered from Jim Testa. I am running a PTE chip which I believe is a Lubrant chip. I didn't have knock on my old motor (everything listed below exept for the ported and polished heads, 204/214 cam, and forged pistons) I was able to get 19# on 93 with no knock, but then my old cam went. Well I am confused now, I was told that I needed my chip recalibrated with my new heads, and cam, but when I called PTE they said that it shouldn't need to be reburnt. (They were extremely nice and helpful) So which is it? I thought that if I'm putting in 25% more air then I would need the proportional amount of fuel. I went ahead and ordered the Testa chip for my new combo anyways, but would like to know if my current chip is letting it lean out and causing knock. I get 2-15* (I have not heard or felt this knock) any throttle with 10 psi or more. My O2s drop to about .640 (This is at no more than 1/2 throttle as well) I have not WOT the motor yet. TPS is .042 WOT 4.54, IACs are normal, new fuel filter, fuel pressure is 43# with the line off, blms 128, MAFs 255. If you need any more specific info just ask. Thanks.
