ground Zero
empire state building
ellis Island
times square
greenwich village
chinatown

Central Park is cool too. I thought it would just be like a really big park, but I was impressed nonetheless my first time there.

Asylum

Go to the asylum on bleeker street in greenwich village. awsome place after 11PM.:D

if you come into Brooklyn, you HAVE to go to Coney Island and have a Nathans hot dog, then ride on the Cyclone a few blocks over in Astroland. there is also the aquarium further down on Surf ave.
the bar scene in Bay Ridge is hot also on 3rd ave.
also we have Prospect Park and right across the street from it is the Brooklyn Botanical Garden.

enjoy the trip in, and dont be alarmed when you take a taxi in the city and the driver looks like a swami!

It depends on how long you'll be in town. Ground Zero is pretty close to Battery Park. Battery Park is cool in and of itself, but that's also where you take the ferry out to Ellis Island and the newly opened Statue of Liberty.

A little farther north (20-25 min walk from Ground Zero) is Chinatown and a little further north is Little Italy.

The Empire State Building is cool, but it's further up town. If you're going that far you may as well hit Times Square and Bryant Park. There's a free concert in the park every Friday morning. Black Eyed Peas are playing tomorrow at 7AM. Bryant Park is a cool place to visit (it's actually the most-visited public place in the country for its size) and it's close to Times Square, too. You can pick up one of those double-decker tour buses in Times Square as well.

There's tons of stuff to do - I think the hard part is going to be deciding what NOT to do.
