Let me know what type of torque converter you run and how fast your car is. Do you lock-up the converter while racing? In which gear do you lock it up and how often? How much difference does it make to your elapsed times/trap speeds? Have you noticed a decrease in reliablilty (transmission or torque converter) because of locking the converter up?

I want to run a 3500+ stall PI Vigilante on a potential 11 second street GN to use almost daily. I want to be able to lock it up (at wide-open throttle 1/4 mile at a time  )without burning the lock-up clutches up. I was curious who was running which lock-up and how fast their combo was .... and if they had any issues to be aware of.

Hopefully I will have decent participation in this poll and it might help others to make an informed choice of which converter is best for them.

I have a 3500 PI 7 disc. I have never locked it up under full throttle. I was told it is too hard on the trans unless you lock in when you are in 3rd gear. Unless you have billet parts. I would get a single disc lock up and not lock it on WOT. The small amount you might gain is not worth braking your trans. If I could do it again, I would get a single disc or a non lock.
