I recently came into possesion of a Stage 1 engine built be Ken Duttweiler. From what I have been able to find out, it has a 3.625 stroke, 4 in. bore., JE pistons, Cunningham rods, 1.6 roller rockers, 66mm turbo, ported m&a heads, BGC chrome intake and an Art Carr transmission with a 9 in. stall converter. It has a lot of other things, but this will do for my purposes. Now, my question is what would you do with it. I can either sell the engine and tranny as a complete combination or I can put it in a turbo Buick chassis. Which do you think would be easier to sell, a whole car or just the engine/tranny combination? I don't mind doing all the work to put a whole car together, but I do run a business and it is important to have a certain amount of cash flow. Any stoppage in work to put a car together costs me time and money. Speaking of time, how long should it take to drop a combination like this in to a rolling chassis? We are basically talking about an engine swap and running some fuel line. Any input would be much appreciated. This is a tough decision. Thanks.

How much for the combo.... well depending on your experience, anywhere from a week to 3 weeks, but let me know on the combo

How many miles are on the motor/tranny that came out of Fred's old car?

TIA,
Gary

So, what I'm getting is that this might be a bad idea? What if I had a very nice rolling chassis that had a complete interior but was missing the engine and trans. I have the complete engine harness and all the other plumbing that I will need. I don't see doing an engine swap taking more than a few days. I really just want the easiest way to sell something like this. I don't want the engine to sit for a few months with nothing happening and then end up giving it away because I'm sick of looking at it. Its happened before and I can see the same thing starting to develop here. I had another well built turbo buick engine/tranny combination that I sat on for a few months and nothing happened. I ended up selling it on ebay for much less than it was worth. I really just want to get the most out of this situation. I also wouldn't mind getting a nice car out of it. Even if it is for a short time period.
