Car looks to be completely show worthy inside and out
(list of mods are what was sent to me, I have no further clarification)

I have been offered this in trade for my 90 mustang lx hatch race car. That, when finsihed, will run in the 8's @ about 155 or so on a drag radial.

So how 'bout it... what would the dollar value be for the GN?

Thaks for the look...

It wont run 8 or 9's but it could get in the 10's.

Depends on how much you have put into this gaystang.

I say since the car was prepped by Kenne Bell, then it has to be kinda old, since Kenne Hasn't been dealing with TR in a while. But I could be wrong. I would guess its worth under 20K.

But hopefully others will chim in.

I think I know the car in question. Got any pics? Sounds like it should really run good. Depending on the tuner and driver of course. Like he said it depends on the money you've got in your Mustang, and how bad you want a GN. I can tell you this the GN will only continue to increase in value! That is something to consider as well! Hope this helps. With out seeing the car it really hard to tell! :)

If you are selling the car I hope you have better luck than I've had. The market for modded cars, at least here in CA seems pretty soft.

IMHO modded cars are allways harder to sell IF you dont know about the car personally . Whats this car worth ??? might be worth 20k BUT ya need someone with $$$$$ .. bottom line its worth whatever someone would pay in green American $$$$

gaystang??? Wow...though crowd! Seems as though this "gaystang" would peel the caps back on most of the people around... but that's not the point here.

I'm also not looking for somingthing equally fast. Just a driver and maybe go to the track every once in a while.
I'm not looking to sell the car right away... if ever! I like the GN's

If I were to sell my mustang outright I would take no less than 18k for the thing. Which I think is a steal for an 8 sec ride... I'm just looking for an even sitution.

vicious6: to my knowlege the car has always been in the vegas area.

87buick3825: You are ABSOLUTELY correct!!!!!! It's always what the market will bear.

TRBON8R: Where in Long Beach are you??? I'm from right by the Los Altos mall and CSULB.

Did you ever get to post any pics, we may be able to give you a little more insight on the value of the car if we could see it! ;) As far as gaystang deal, don't worry about it, I'm sure he was joking. I have owned several Mustangs over the years and really enjoyed them as well. Great little cars, just seems that my heart is a 231 cid V-6!!!! :p

haha jsut playing with you.

If the Stang is only worth about 18k for you than I think it would be a good deal. But pics are needed.

In the low to mid $20K range you could buy a Stage 2 powered GN that runs 8's if you are patient enuf and find the right deal.

Unless that GN has fresh paint that is excellent and an aftermarket fuel management setup I don't think it is worth the $$$. IMO

55lbers aren't 009's (42.5lb/hr units). You want to confirm that.

That Auburn posi won't last on slicks. Would be better off with an Eaton.

Do a trade with him and ask for $3-5K cash. I assume you have a smog hookup as there is no way in hell it will pass smog legally.

Well, why would you rebuild a "brand new" crate engine...

What are 55# 009 injectors...55's are 55's, 009's are 42's

ECU miodded for which? High (009's) or LOW impedance (55's)..which is it

3.5" moly ....is that chrome moly? Never heard of that done, guess its possible tho. Cant comment

Didnt know Scanmasters were up to V2.2, although I have been out of the ECM thing for awhile

It kinda sounds like the guy is blowing smoke up your ass. I would take a knowledgable "Buick" person with you to see the car.

I meant to say 'could' not would, it made me look like a tard.

I also noticed the 55 009's but figured it was a 'just' misprint

I didn't know that about the posi though:eek:

Van Raden,

I'm in Belmont Shore, a couple blocks up from 2nd Street. If I can help let me know.

Sorry, I read your initial post wrong. I thought you were looking to sell the GN or trade for a Mustang. Now I see I have it backwards.

Good luck on your possible trade. :)

By the way, as some others have mentioned a lot of the mods listed for the GN you are looking at don't make sense or simply don't exist! I would advise to ask a LOT more questions and proceed with caution. :)

TurboJim: Those were my thoughts about the engine too.. but I've seen weirder things. In talking with the guy, he says he has allthe paper work to back up his claims.

the paint on the car looks perfect from the pics I've been sent, same with the interior. There has definately been some attention paid to the car.

I can't comment on the injector thing, I'm passing what was given to me. I don't know how buick inj are rated... I know ford terminology. All I know is in the word doc I was sent it states "55lbs-009 injectors", so that's what I wrote. Is there as color coding of inj? I know how ford does it.. orange=19#, light blue=24#, red=30# and so on

Again, the info I was sent states " ECU upgraded to read high impedence injectors"

I have a buddy who is a 20 year buick tech (and has built a couple quick turbo 6's in the past) that was going to give it a once over before I did anything.

Well if it doesn't work out.... I guess I still have a quick ass mustang!! lol

Thanks for all the input here.. If any of you see other things let me know!

TRBON8R: I'm on 2nd all the time! My best friend lives on Roycroft.
Bono's, Murphy's, Bayshore, AI are all haunts of mine. Hey...head over to the Potholder Cafe and have a VanRaden omlett!!! lol Very good if I do say so myself.
Funny... we should hook up and gearhead out over a beer some time! As long as it isn't at Ripples!!! lol

And I'll see if I can post the pics of the car for further review.

hmmm dont look like no 3.5 downpipe to me  NOT pickin your car apart ...just tryin to "look" at what you are being told
pretty car :D

I can't say if the car has the 3 1/2" dp or not. I've never seen it in person. How can you tell with the shield on? OR does it not fit with a down pipe that large?

I guess it'll be obvious once the car is if front of me.
