Wheels and back spacing?????????

okay everyone I am getting ready to buy some rims for my 1984 NA Regal.

My question is about "Backspacing"
My rim size is going to be 14 X 7 . But they are offering 3 or 3.5 inch backspacing.
Any suggestions or explanations??????
The tire size is 225 x 14 x 70's Goodyear Eagle (NASCAR Raised white letters).

Will I have any tire rub with 3.5 ?
I want the deeper dish look.

That's a small wheel, they won't rub.


I have a set of similar wheels. American Racing 767's have that NASCAR look. 15x7 with 4"BS. 235/60R15's up front (slight rub on frame at full lock - no problem). On back I have 275/50R15's. They fit, but handle poor. I'd run 235's all around on a street car.

Do you have any pics of the Regal with the AR Rims you have on it?

That is what I am looking ot do is get the NASCAR look from the Early 80's. Mainly a #42 Kyle Petty STP Regal.

Right now my Regal looks just like the Light brown T-type regal you have pictured on the links below your name.

I can't find any where the details of the wheel are visable. The AR's are about ~$50 each and have D-slots like NASCAR wheels did.

Thanks for the pic of the car with the rims on it.
You cant really see much of it but for what you can see it is kool.

The Bassett Rims are $45.00 each.
Those are the exact rims they used in NASCAR back in the 80's anyway.
I kept looking for white ones but they dont make them anymore.
I might just talk to my local paint guys and see about stripping the place and plaint them white.
