WHEN to lock up torque converter

Just curious...I have a TCC lockup switch installed and i am going to the track this friday...just wondering when to flip the switch to ON and then after the run should i flip it OFF right away?

i heard after third gear hits around 75 mph to flip the switch on...i want in the 11's that's for sure...trying to do every little thing i can to help me get there...

if you have a D5 type converter, just turn on the lock up from the get go......it won't lock until 2nd gear anyhow...if you have something stouter (like a Vigilante etc) you may want to wait until 3rd gear or you'll destroy the drum if it locks in 2nd
