When you port an intake manifold how much do you port?

I ask because today while I was installing my new RJC plate, I noticed when I looked down the runners, where they meet the head, it looks like maybe an inch of the runner was smoothened down.

I was thinking wouldn't you want to smooth all of the runner on up to the plenum?

So I am guessing I have a ported intake, but perhaps only half done?

Sounds like you have a gasket match done to your intake, which really helps. Of course we're just guessing. Slap up some photos so we can see...

I tried taking some photos but you have to get up close and personal to see, and then when you zoom in with the camera the picture gets blurred. :frown:
