Hi
I just bought a new fiberglass spoiler and need the paint code. The body shop told me to look in the console and on the white GM sticker are numbers and letters in groups of 3
He said to look for a series that ends in the letter U
I checked the entire tag and none of the groups of 3 end in a U There are groups of 3 that say as an example, UF6 UK3 UQ1 UT4, etc but again dont end in U.
At the bottom of the tag it says

BCCC WA-L8554 U8554 662

But he said that is not the paint code.
Anyway any ideas where to look for the paint code and what it would say ?
Thanks

That is the paint code WA8554 (the L means lower part of the body, U menas upper).

There is however if I remember correct 3 different shades of that white used in 89, that's what i had to decide on when I had my TTA painted last year.

I say just have them mix and match the color for your spoiler with the rest of your car.

Code 40, WA-8554. The L & U are Lower and Upper for two-tone cars. Different paint companies have different #s of variances for thier colors.
BASF has an excellent matching system.
Don't get 8555, that's black.
