Now that I think about it, you should bring TTA89 around just for old time's sake. You have just 2 months to argue the hotair thing before mine becomes just another IC car.

nah .. he can't be bothered .... like I like to say "let the car do the talkin" why don't YOU race your car with out akly and then just take the intercooler out and use the alky .. easier to convince ya that way

Back when I started with the car I was a kid making $10 an hour so it wasn't always easy to get to the track or keep it running. That was the main reason why I never made a good showing. Things are different now. I never did get to run this combo at the track and as it sits, heads are off and waiting for the new ones. When it goes together it will be with the 87 crap that I've accumulated.

Since you preach to "let your car do the talking" you can show us YOUR data so I don't have to do the testing. You do have data from all of your testing with and without an intercooler, right?

DONE ... not the woulda, coulda, shoulda's  as far as tryin without an intercooler why could I be bothered .. I know it can be done BUT I don't own a HA car .. SOOO lets hear input from the other thread  Oh there is always more than one way to skin a cat ;)

Cool!
We finally got some excitement in the HA forum! :D

Well post it up. Wait, you didn't get any pre-intercooler....

I'm waiting for the usual pictures. You know, the one with a million intercooled buicks in the driveway or the hotair car rotting away. You know, the usual pics we've been seeing for the past 10 years.

I don't really think there is an argument here. Alky is the best bang for the buck without a doubt. You can install an intercooler kit for what 800$ used? Or fab one up for yourself for maybe 500. And you run a cooler intake charge and pick up about 45-50 hp at 17 psi. Or you can cool the intake charge down to a respectable amount but have the octane to run 23 psi and make probably 75-90 hp when tuned right. Now if we are talking about adding alky or an intercooler to the stock turbo..... the gains would be pretty close. I don't think the stocker is gonna gain much once past 20, so a intercooler upgrade might be the more logical choice if you are looking to stick with the stock sized turbo. Once bigger turbos (TA48s, 49s, custom TA33s T66s TA61s etc...) come into play, i think alky has to win hands down. The more efficient turbos will benefit a lot more from being in their efficiency range with the alky than when compared to running the same turbo at 17 psi with an intercooler.

here ya go :p so if a HA car runs faster than 12.9@110mph you would say Alky makes more power ??? you can lead a horse to water but ya can't make em drink .. have fun guys bench racing .. thats about all that happeneds in the HA section I guess :p

With an IC your still stuck at 15 PSI on pump gas.

Not the same with alky.

What about alky and the drama Lama :D

Why not do both? Free up the air w/ a upgraded IC then cool it w/ ALKY.

Drama Lama. hehehe Hmm... Where have I been called that before? :p

Happy 3-4th July Everyone! ;)

You're an idiot. I lost interest in this one. If that's the conclusion you draw from my statement, I have to wonder, are you trying to argue for the sake or argument or are you just plain stupid? I've got to go to the beach so have fun bench racing with the hotair guys. You do it well.
