Will the Side Molding on a GN peel off?

Can you remove the side molding (that runs from front to back) on a GN? I know on the 4th Gen Trans Am's the molding is stuck on with double sided adhesive tape, and you can heat it up and peel it off.

Is the GN molding riveted to the body, or is it stuck on with something like 3M tape?

Typically, side moulding is attached with adhesive as you've described. However, there are styles of moulding with a pressed in insert that has the base riveted on. In any case, upon removing the glued on type, the paint will be damaged where the moulding was attached, caused by the adhesive. You can't polish out the damage, it must be refinished.
