any suggestions on the 6262 turbo

The billet 67's. If you run 35 psi on the 6262 you are brave and better keep an eye on everything since the 3 bar map will leave you on you own past 28-31psi. I have logs where the power logger read past 28.5 but not past 31. So your correction factor will be there to add fuel, but the alky wont add any pump speed. You can run that much boost its just more attention to detail and little to no room for error. If you plan to try it be on the safe side and put 110oct in the tank with alky. Retorque the heads and have a fuel pressure logging system.

Me, I would go with a 67 and a loose converter. Pronto you do remember when guys used big turbos and 3600-4500 stalls right?

Yes and thats what I would like to avoid in the future. As far as the map goes what about a 4 bar, would that work?
I also heard about the 6466. I'l like to see that one come out.

I would not run alky injection over 30psi. It would be straight 116 octane race fuel if it was me.

So could the 6262 do mid-low 10s at 35psi with the correct supporting mods and still be a fun on the street? Is there a better choice for a turbo if you don't want to run 35psi?
You will need a looser converter and it still won't spool like a 6262. If you are running 35psi you're running faster than mid 10's. I still run a 60-1 on one of my cars and it runs mid 10's. It's a junk engine too. 59mm cast wheel and old p trim. It spools really fast with a ptc 9.5". It seems to be done around 30-32 psi and 5500rpm. It's way off the map where I run it. There is quite a bit more potential with the 62 compressor

If anyone is looking to get the most out of a 6262 you will likely need 2 pumps or ar least a boost a pump. Boost will be in the mid 30's and the engine rpm will need to be between 5100 and 5800. Good luck.

I just need to find a 3.5 or 4 bar MAP.

30-35psi with methanol
weldon 2345 pump
shifting around 57-5900

gonna either blow something (or myself) up, or go reaalll fast :D

Even better than straight 116 race fuel. AEM has a 3.5 Bar MAP that i use. If you get one lmk and ill send you the calibration file for it.

Adding a 3.5 or 5 bar map is not plug and play. There is a way to do it explained in the alky section. Marley you're running 100 methanol for fuel correct?

You can do it plug and play if you get an adaptor harness though you would need to drill and tap the intake for the AEM style MAP sensor to properly install it.

Meh, a bit of drilling never hurt anyone.

When you say calibration file, does the MAP come with a program for a computer? Or are you referring to a FAST system? I'm just using a Gen2.

JasJamz- Yes, 100% methanol.

I was referring to the xfi

What are your goals?

Royal is 100% correct PORT THE HOLE :)

I just put a 6262 BB on the car in my sig below. You can see how mine spools against the transbrake if you go to this thread: http://www.turbobuick.com/forums/turbos-turbo-related-parts/360931-installed-my-ta-6262-dbb.html

I think the recomended stall is 28-3000, mine stalls around 2600.
You might need more injector, 60# maybe? I would get Alky and run as much boost as you can run on the alky. and see where you are before adding other mods.

My goal is to run 11.5 in the quarter on street tires like BFG 255/50/16 with good street manners.

Wont happen with what you plan on using. You'd need a 10.0 car and bigger tires to do that. Last on I seen do that was Patrick Rubik's with his car Ruben. It was a mid 9 second car and went 11.35 on a 295-50-15 if I recall correctly.

Hopefully you are referring to a drag radial. If not that is some wishful thinking

Wow, that was along time ago too.

Boost turned all the way down, slicks tool box and jack all in the trunk and feathering the throttle till about 200 ft, then holding on for dear life trying not too loose control.

Good times.

I was told to run a 28" tall tire to get better performance.
Now my speedometer and scan unit needs adjustment to correct MPH.
I run DR unless it is wet at which point the DR and wheels are replaced with 255 tires.

A single in tank can supply enough fuel, but who is to say you aren't going to upgrade later? If you get the 60s and you decide to upgrade your fuel pump, you need new injectors. If you get the 80s and you stay with 1 pump you're fine. If you upgrade to 2 pumps you will still be able to flow enough.

So how far will 60 lbs injectors take the 6262? 25-30 lbs of boost?

60's should support like 575 rwhp. That is 720 flywheel, which is what that turbo is rated at. If you are upgrading, buy the 80's and one of the newer high flow pumps. You don't want to be running at 90-100% injector duty cycle. I see you don't have alky so I'm assuming you are using race fuel. So to answer your question, yes if you have stock heads, unported.

Car is getting alcohol and ported heads.
