I have just had the 2004r in my 65k 1986 t-type rebuilt.
Back to stock, inproved front pump, upgraded to 13 vain, harden input shaft and drum, clearance on clutchs .005, with d5 converter, tranny cooler, fluid 1 qt over, all is well with normal driven.
Shifts are crisp, at the correct rpm, and the lock up is normal.

Here is the glitch, at WOT, it will shift around 3500 to 3800 from 1st to 2nd and flare out, same for the next shift.

Transmission rebuilder has stated it needs new servo, billet servo, is this correct?

Would appreciate input on the subject.

If it was built correctly, it shouldn't need a billet servo. I built the one in my 85 T to stock specs and it has the correct servo and it will chirp second and hit solid into 3rd below 1/2 throttle. Anything over that and it will screech the tires. Possible worn out pin hole in accumulators, worn lip seals on servo, worn pin bore in case...lots of things.
