I put new valve covers on (tall ones) and the only way I could get them on was to pull the airbox heat shield...who was the sadist who thought it needed so many screws?!?! Anyway -

any adverse side effects?

Will the heat destroy the box?

If needed I could put some heat barrier stuff there. Just curious.

Thanks
Scott

that whole area is way too tight! I hate going into that little corner. I have removed that metal plate before, and no side effects. Use it as a frisbee and throw it into the woods.

I did head gaskets past week and removing airbox shield sure
made job easier. It's not going back on better access to valve-
cover on pass side too.

no problem

I've been running without that shield for 2 years & no problems. :)
