Razor's kit, 5857 turbo, 60's, TT chip , 25 lbs of boost. I year old pump and hotwire, both Racetronic. I added 8% more fuel all gears WOT. I have my turn on down to 4LBs and the initial at factory setting. At 78mph my boost is all in and I have 760 o2's and 6* of knock. Should i turn the turn on back to factory and bump up the initial instead of the other way? Gain knob at 7 or 8 made no differance. 3300 ft above sea level, 91 octane. Runs good at 20 to 22 lbs of boost. Scanmaster readings at idle.

I would be cautious here....Sounds like something is going on to have 6* KR with having added 8% fuel with gain knob at 7-8...Don't think alky coming on at 4lbs vs 7lbs has much to do with it although I would put it back where it was.....

Couple things to do would be to 1st find out if this knock is real or false...At what MPH is the scanmaster showing the knock occured?? Anyway to verify fuel pressure is at a 1:1 ratio with boost??? Is your fuel pressure set correct for the TT chip???

760 @ 25psi could be lean. tunning with 02's suck. i say add more fuel. sure would be nice to see the duty cycle.

Add more fuel. Add a 1-2 lbs through the regulator as well. You need to see upper 700's/lower 800's at the speed. Your O2's are crashing thats why its knocking. Simple.

If the chip was made for 22-24 and your at 25 thats issue 1. Your BL's are above 128 so its adding a little fuel. meaning its a tad lean. Couple lean fuel pressure with chip not made for boost your running, coupled with poor gasoline at altitude.. there you have it.

Crank all the fuel the chip will give you. The alky kit doesnt matter if your at 4 or 7 psi. Adding alcohol to a lean situation wont fix it. You simply need more fuel.

Now if you said I see 800 for O2's and see knock.. then i'd be adding alcohol.

thanks for all the help. I will be having the chip redone befor i drive it again. I added the 5857 since the chip was burnt. When i got the car in October it had a stock turbo.

Thinking that alky chips have 20/18 timing? Anyway I agree with everyone above. Bet just lowering the timing will help the knock. Check that fuel pressure.

It is an alky chip, and it has 24-22 for timing. I have a new chip coming that is for the bigger turbo. Car will sit until it gets here.

new chip today. 22 lbs of boost, 792 02, 0 knock. Chip is set up for 24-26 lbs.

new chip has 23-21 for timing. Car ran perfect. 100* out, so i didn't bump the boost up.

Check the timing.

The 792 was taken at what MPH? There is a huge difference between 70 mph and 100 mph. If your getting the 790 reading at 100+ mph you should be close.

Normally at 22 PSI I would expect to see a higher O2 reading but you have the altitude to contend with.

All the numbers above look fine.

78 mph I have not added fuel or any thing yet. It was the first drive with the new chip.

You can't check the timing by just putting a timing light on it. Bison is saying verify the timing.

Razor, I added 5.5% to the fuel, bumped the boost to 24-25. Had 789 02, 0.7 knock, at 101 mph. Blue alky knob at about 6 3/4.
