I played once last summer and had a blast not to mention it's good excersise. I borrowed a friends Tippmann 98 custom. Shot great had a few upgrades on it but being a newbie I was clueless. So now I'm looking to buy a marker. I've decided to get a Tippmann but not sure on what accessories or addons would be a nice to have..I mean, if I go w/an A-5 gun, are there any drawbacks to having a fully auto gun such as not being allowed to play certain games etc?? Any good sites on the web w/good pricing /info as to what I should consider?

Im not into paint ball but there is a thread on the www.syty.net board titled "Angel Air" that has a few ppl in it that seem to be hard core. Id put the link up but my puter is acting up and wont let me access certain pages  .

Paintballer here. Here are some sites to help you out. Check out pbreview since they have ratings on all guns and equipment. This should help you decide on what gun and upgrades to get. Having a fully automatic gun is not legal on most fields. I have been playing since 1994 and the equipment has changed alot over time. Gun's I have/had are Brass Eagle Stingray, Tippman Prolite, AGD Minimag, 2K WDP Angel LCD and my new toy Bob Long's Ironmen Intimidator. Its really a fun sport but can get expensive. Just like Turbobuicks:)

I use to play a while back even had our own sponsered team. Its an expensive hobby/sport if you go with the semi-automatic guns. But seen price drops in the paintballs. Pumps are more compeditive and semi are much more fun.

IMO go with an Automag for starters or even a better an Autococker (two different brands). Angel's are the best out there but the full auto guns might be not allowed in some paintball fields.

To me Tippmanns are "ok" paintball guns.

Yea, I've been looking at that but was hesitant because of the full autos not being allowed in tournament play...who knows, I may never play a tourny..but then again I may..

And, yea, I wouldn't mind shootin you a few times either biatch! ;)

i got out in 96, started doing tournements and the money started flying. 200-300 on paint balls in a day just got outta hand. i had a custom automag that cost 800.

I LOVE paintball im an addict anyone else in ny we should get a little get together i have lots of knowledge and would not mind helping anyone if you have any questions let me know

I think learning all the paintball **** is harder than getting a Buick to run in the 10s though..I'm totally confused. Reading a few forums, and looking at a few etailers...my mind is like WTF!

I think Nitro would be cool, but then there's fixed pressure, adj. pressure, cradles, bla bla...I need help! :)

I've been thinking about doing paintball again. I sold my last paintball gun it was a blue spydier and was sweet. I've been thinking about getting the Armotech WG-65/m16"m4 paintball gun.

:)

Nitro is the way to go. Most Paintball guns are using it now. When purchasing a tank a fixed preset tank would work just fine. Also the cradle is what holds the tank to the bottom of the gun. This will bring the tank forward so the tank feels more comfortable. Like Turbobuicks do your research and you'll be fine.:)

my friend just got a tippmann A-5 with responce trigger and a couple barrels, neat gun. i recent thought i'd try paintball so i got a Custom 98 with flatline and responce trigger. its nice having the adjustment, so you can go full auto or single shot. or bursts depending how you pull the trigger.

its been fun so far, played half a day on an indoor field, then did a little playing in the desert, which really gives you a work out when you have a huge space to run around and no bunker deals to hide behind.

Yep, I've decided to go with the Tippman A5. Nice gun. The full auto is pretty SICK! I like the double bursts though, that's neat. The hopper is pretty slick too. Going to to C02 for now since a 20oz tank is included in the package. I will prolly go nitro after a few outtings...

thats the nice thing about the tippmanns, from the factory they can go either way. my friend got a small nitrogen tank with the gun and still has his old 20oz tanks from his other marker. while i get to run around freezing the gun every time i have to empty a hopper at someone. its all part of the fun.

Yea, its neat. I'm gonna go w/a drop forward to...forgot to mention that. Nitro is nice, but I can't see spending 300 on it when the goun dont even cost that much!

The Tippman A5 is a nice gun. Good choice! You're going to have alot of fun with it. If you have any questions feel free to ask. :)

Actually, I WAS going to buy it at the store..guy was helpful, very nice, and I dont' mind paying 20-30bux more since it's local and right there...BUT I see the same gun A5/RT for 125-140 bux cheaper!!! Can pick em up for about 250-75...he wanted 399. WTF is up with that...sheesh. Anyways...who have you ordered from online w/no probs if any?

I guess its because of the store costs and customer service. RIGHT SURE OK:confused: I posted a topic on a paintball message board and I got my A*s reamed for asking why stores charge so much. Everyone just said support your local paintball store If it wasn't for them you wouldn't be playing. Its true to a point:rolleyes:. I have the same problem with local stores around here its so convinent to purchase parts. But the prices are out of this world.
