I know it doesn't have anything to do with turbo regals but I thought that there might be someone out there that knows.

I was just wondering if there is anyone on this forum that knows anything about buicks aluminum cylinder head that they made during the 60's because I just acquired a set.

I was wondering what engines these heads would fit on?

and how rare are they?

also what cars came with these heads? Because oddly enough this set came off of a 65 tempest 4dr.

Thanks
Phil

If you're talking about V8 heads, those would be off of the 215 aluminum V8.

Although the 215 did use aluminum heads, in 64 Buick also put aluminum heads on the iron 300. It was a one year only option. Now the 300 aluminum head will bolt on a 215 and a 215 head will bolt on a 300, but the 215’s intake and exhaust ports are far smaller than the 300. Valve covers and rocker shafts will interchange, but valves will not.

There are cooling issues with a set of 64 300 aluminum heads being installed on a 65 or 66 300 iron block. This may be the only case in history were the iron 300 head out flows and perfumes the aluminum 300 head.
