Going to the track What should it run???

Why didn't you get a nice Eaton posi unit? I changed my peg leg to one and it's very good.

  The locker is in- I HAVE A POSI REAR:biggrin::biggrin:

I read a lot of good things about lockers (except in this place) Well one guy here told me by PM that he has one in his car and it works good.
Then over at the chevelle site a bunch of people also said that they use them with no problems So I took a chance and went with it. This thing was in in less then one hour. I didn't have to reset of even touch the gear adjustments (back lash) nothing I just put it in and then did a perfectly even burn-out.

The rental got rained out.
I am trying to go one of these Friday nights TNT sessions.
I am also trying to find another rental to join as the TNT nights suck and are a waste of time. 5 hours and they didn't even want to let me get my 3rd and last run in.
I’ll post it up when I do get to go to the track

Going to the track AGAIN What should it run???

What Do you guys think?

i think

those slicks are definetly gonna help you alot outta the hole you should be around a mid to low 12 i would asume but you never really know until that 1320 feet is over and done with. best of luck and let us know

I hope to get a few runs in to set up the tune.
I am having pipe dreams of high 11s  but I could live with low 12s(not realy:frown:)

I also got to the muffler shop and they gave me a great price on mod-ing and making fit the DP.
So it looks like I'll have the 3" THDP style DP in time for the track.

This is a DP the muffler shop made? I'd like to see a picture of it!

So you went from 17's to a 12.91? When did you run this pass?

I hope you break the 11's but i really dont think it will happen. I think the D5 will be your next hold up at the top end but i do see your looking for a new converter! I would have to guess a high 12 pass. But.......I do hope you get better than that!;)

1-The DP is a TH style DP for a Buick that I had modified to fit my car we used from the flange to about ten inches back.
2-9-18-09 at Atco the track rental from the other "place"

3-my new best from today is 12.686 @105.15 @ 20psi of boost. Also at Atco.

60'........1.936
330.......5.307
1/8.......8.137
MPH......82.21
1000.....10.586
1/4.......12686
MPH......105.15

I let of about 20 to 30 from the finish line:mad:

I lowered the boost because I added the DP and didn't know what to expect. The boost flashed to 25psi and flattened out at 20 psi.
My previous best of 12.91 was at 25-27 PSI with the OE elbow and DP.

The Sad part is that today’s runs came with a big price. New thread coming soon:(

Uh OH!!!!! What happened?

Is there a way that I can "convert" or recalculate this run using a deferent rear gear? 3.23, 3.42 or 3.55
And
Is there a way that I can "convert" or recalculate this run using a deferent TC like a LU 26-2800 stall?

You need to get those 60's cut down. Heck even I can cut 1.8 60' on Firestone street tires on an unprepped local track.

With a harder launch and better 60', 12.3 maybe. Check your rpm as you go through the traps. Probably too low.

Going to the ATCO track rental on Tuesday October 26

TE-6031
Dutt neck
Built trans
9.5 LU 3000 Stall
26X10-15 Slicks
Alky

The latest change is the Rear i am going from the previously mentioned 3.08 TO
3.42s.
My last run and best run was 12.68 with a stock D5 a questionable Trans and 3.08s.

If it don't run 11's now it never will. :p

24 psi. with 21* timing in 3rd gear, lock the converter.

Even at 3800lb.s it will run a high 11 on slicks even with a 1.8 60ft.

This is gonna be your lucky day.

Stock cam? If you end up running a high mph, keep an eye on the rpms. You may benefit going to a 27" tire. If you run 110mph or so, I'm guessing you'll be right at 5400-5500 rpm on the 26" tire. Maybe some of us have some taller sticky tires you may be able to try out for the rental. With a decent 60ft, high 11s at 111-112 is a reasonable goal.
