Help! I need to know step by step how to put a later model Buick rolleer cam in our engine?
I can't find the threads that talked about this.

Thanks for the help, guys. I found the thread and I will go on with the project.
I bought a roller camshaft from Full Throttle and went with Mike's recommendation!
I am using the 86/87 big Buick roller cam hardware with it. Thanks again.

In 1986 & 87, Buick used a roller cam in the Le Sabre and Park Avenue 3800 engines,
so you can use the "spider", "dog bones" & roller lifters from these 3800 series engines
in the 3.8's in our cars. (If you can find them?) I bought a set off the board,
so I am off & running with it. You only have to make up 2 spacers and drill &
tap 2 holes in the valley to bolt on the "spider" retainer. Pretty easy stuff.

Also watching. How can you tell what 3800 engine used these? I at one time had an 87 lesabre T with the 3800. Same type of engine? Which thread were you talking about?

a 3800 cam will not work in a RWD engine. The intake/exhaust lobes are all in the wrong location. A 1986-1987-1988 FWD 3.8 VIN 3 had a roller cam.
The lifters, retainers and spider from this engine will work in the RWD block.

I am using a camshaft that I bouht from Full Throttle.
I don't think I will go wrong using M.L.s reommendation,
IMHO!
