To me, it looks like one of our first generation PT88 turbos.
Also looks like someone has put a different T5 turbine housing on it, as there were only three housing options for the PT88. Hard to make out exactly what the A/R is of the turbine housing in your picture, maybe a .84? The housings we offered were, medium frame T4 .96 with a round 4-bolt flange. medium frame T4 .96 with a V-band flange and a 3-bolt aka "Catelope" housing that's no longer available. There might be some engraving markings on the compressor cover discharge, typically where the intercooler hose slips over the discharge of the compressor cover.
Depending what you are putting that on, those units, typically were spec'd for small block applications under 400 ci, and wanting to make 700-900 whp with a race gas / high boost tune.

If that is a 1st Generation PT88, it was rated to support 1200 fwhp when maxed out.
We can still repair them if need be, but unfortunately, they are not upgradeable.
Hope this helps.

Patrick

This is the turbo that was on the stage 2 car i recently purchased. Looking at simply the appearance of most turbo's on stage cars. They have smaller exhaust sides and taller thinner compressor sides. This thing spools veeeeeeerrrryyyy slow. With the research i've done. I've been told the 88 is the way to go. What are the main differences between putting a old 76 on this and the new 88's? As far as et. and spool time.
