Nissan GT-R----your thoughts?

I would not dare to run one with even my old 10 sec TR.........Because I own a GTR....I just picked it up.....and the car is insane...The car just seems to plant the power so fierce and so well...any rear driven car has no chance on the street.... has anybody raced one of these cars yet? I have beaten a ZO6 (2007) ..a Ferrari F430 ...a 997 ...and a few Mustangs.......as a GN owner and having many TR's...these GTR's are modern day supercars with only 480hp ...but the car utilizes it 100% with 4 wheel drive and the worlds fastest shifting Auto Tranny.....making it a light to light killer....I even raced a 2006 Viper with mods and drag radials and because of the shifting the viper driver was doing I got him by 3 cars to the light....

Mine is the Super Silver Premium....I love the paint...it has been baked 5 times and has 7 coats of clear...and polished from factory...so a good wipe down and off I go....I dont really even wash the car much....

The car gets more attention then a naked supermodel dancing in the street naked....I have had people take pics with it....tons of people follow me on the highway for miles...guys with ferraris thumbs up and even groups of girls this week from spring break ask me if they can take a pic with it for facebook...crazy car....

They will cease production of the car in 2012 and will have produced less then 7500 in total...

Your bud's car runs fast......I am going to modify mine with a tune and exhaust...

With just a tune and exhaust they run 10.80's@132......not bad ....

OH AND THEY HAVE A long WARRANTY...truly a great thing to have on a supercar...lol

Thats right!!! i think they already have one running low 10's with minor upgradesMy buddy is waiting for the so call warranty to run out so he could have AMS PERFORMANCE tune it...By the way Congrats on your NEW CHEVY KILLER!!!!!!!!!!!

I raced one at NED last fall. My ET was quicker but he won with a better light. I've seen a few run there. All were in the low 12s to mid 11s. Best one was 11.2 and it was modded. So for the money spent on a brandy new car and more spent on mods he ran a tenth faster than my old grandpa T. A have sat in one. It's pretty cool, but the money needed for maintance and mods is crazy.

Lol..... A 10 second TR would smoke a Nissan GTR by bus lengths. It would not even be close.

Beautiful car tho. Would love to own one as a DD since it has AWD. I seen one last year at the LV drag strip and if I remember correctly it was pulling high 11's or low 12's. I'm pretty sure it was low 12's.

It weighs 3800 lbs. and robs some of that 480 FLHP to run in AWD. I would think it's more equivalent to having a car with maybe 415 hp to the wheels but having TT's I would think you could tweak it to be pretty dam fast if the tranny would hold.

That tranny is real expensive to fix I hear. Hope urs lasts. Post some pics.

I can tell you 1st hand that the low 12's was with no launch control and just maybe the first time at the track with the car.So far my buddy HAS 10 or so runs down the track with the GTR...His 1st ever run was 12.20 @119 not using the launch control.

Does your buddy drive it over to New Buffalo, MI? I had some guys in one just like it taunt me last fall over here, tailgating me until we found a clear stretch of road. I gave in and had to spank them. They were very cool about it giving thumbs ups to the WE4 Not my cup of tea (It's kind of ugly IMO) but you have to respect their great performance. Paul

I've seen a GTR out and about in my neck of the woods, but still have not found him while I'm in the GN. I only see him when I'm in the Landcruiser...
If I ever catch him while in the GN, I'll be sure to post the result...win or loose.

i saw one at our meetings ( towershops) and while it does look great and i can only imagine the car's quick response, but i would'nt back down from racing one, I'm sure with the right mods and at least a 67-DBB, you might give it a good run. With all that said it is a great looking car and responds better than most buicks (maybe not in a straight line :biggrin
but i can just imagine catching a corner with that thing.

Ya know IM not real sure, I took that pic... that day he was having trouble with spool, so he pulled it back into the pits, cracked the hood and as all ten of us are picking our noses and scratching our heads, someone noticed two missing 13mm bolts in the compressor housing... well thar be the problem..lol

anyway replaced the two bolts and Dave goes back and gets in line.. the guy deciding lanes 6 cars back or so points to him and said..."UM You need to get in the slow lane... This lanes for the faster cars"

LOL so anyway Dave made that run.... then you can hear over the loud speaker.... "The White Buick... Please report to the Tower"

You would have to ask BatmansBuick what he's runnin... all I know is he cobbled it together and its wicked fast for very little money invested
