Moon Equip., has one on the market. They used one on American Hodrod. Looked to use a huge stepper motor, to operate the lever on the side of the trans..

I assume you're talking about paddles behind the steering wheel ala Formula 1 and some production Ferraris, right?

The Moon piece is a "push button" operation. I've been contemplating one for the '36.

I guess an enterprising sort could fashion some paddles to operate it.

Oh, I'm sure it could be done, but I haven't the slightest idea how! Big waste of time IMO.
