I have pats 3200 10 inch convertor was wondering what everbody elses sliggage is like. With a d-5 restalled to 2800 from 1/8 to the 1/4 picked up 23-25 mph unlocked. With pats I'm 19-21 unlocked and about 21-22 locked? With d5 would trap 107-109 on 21 psi and pat's at psi 24 106-108? Mod in sig.

thx mike

Did you switch converters the same day and make the comparison on the same day? Sounds like a tune change or air change between the times you ran the car for the comparison. The mph should be the same locked at the end of the quarter if you had 100% lock up for either converter with no other changes. It should actually be a higher mph with the lighter 10" converter when locked. What is your slip % unlocked with each converter? I would be sure to use a 700 R-4 lock up solenoid to be sure your getting full TCC apply at WOT.

Did you ever figure out if it was the converter causing the MPH loss?

pats 10" convertor

I also bought a Pats 3200 convertor and found the car will go to 4000 RPM on the foot brake before it pushes. Also at that 4000 rpm I could only reach 10 # of boost. With my old restalled D5 I could get 15+ at only about 2900. With the Pats convertor locked it would pull hard from the 1/8 although the ET and MPH was lower than with the D5.

As soon as I get the time I'll pull it and send it back to be tightened up.

Did it improve your 60ft time? do you like it better than the old d-5, do you lock it up at wot?

I can't really comment on the 60ft time because I had tire spin on the 10# launches. Once the convertor is tightend up some I'll compare the 60ft times. What hasn't impressed me is the performance on the street I was expecting better off idle as well as from a roll performance. The car felt about the same from off idle but seemed slower from a roll.

I'm not bad mouthing the convertor; once it's re-stalled I think the track performance will be as expected.

I do think the D5 and re-stalled D5s are very good convertors and will take a lot of abuse.

Yes, I do lock the convertor at 85 MPH as I did with the D5.

Wow the Pat's converter doesn't seem to be working for you in your car. I thought the off idle would be much better then a 12 inch D5:confused:
