Tapping into the headlight circuit under dash

I need to tap into the headlight circuit under the dash to dim my O2 gauge when the headlights are turned on. The directions say not to use the instrument light circuit because the rheostat will cause problems with the gauge. Any suggestions on which wire I can tap into for this?

You should be able to tap into the wire at the switch, either the parking lights or headlights will suffice. i believe parking light wire is brown. They are not affected by the rheostat, only the instruments are.

Thanks for the reply. I dug out my shop manual after I asked and I am going to connect to the yellow that feeds the headlights and dimmer switch. I figured connecting to the wire for the dimmer below the column was a little easier to get at since there is a little more harness to work with there.
