Won't Start part duex

OK, I looked at the ground wires and reattached them to ensure better grounding.
Now when I turn it over, it sounds like it wants to catch but dies with a backfire. Could my cam sensor be 180 degrees out?

Yes, sounds like a fuel timing problem. How did you verify that you were on compression for #1?

Actually I just turned the hub to 25 degrees ATDC, I didn't even think to make sure that it was on the compression stroke. I'll have to check that in the morning. Thanks for your help.
