wring up speakers up front, need help

I am wiring up a pair of 5.25 infinity kappa coaxial speakers. I am going to disconnect the dash speakers. Do I just need to clip the wires to the dash speakers and wire in the 5.25's in the door, or is there some other way to wire this setup? The 5.25's will be powered off an amp.

Also, my head unit was stolen, and the harness cut out so I have free wires which need to be wired in without the benefit of an easy connector kit. Does someone have a wire color/function chart?

Wiring for the Concert Sound option is here http://www.gnttype.org/techarea/images/wiring_images/6_speaker_stereo.jpg If it was me, I wouldn't cut the wires to the dash speakers. I'd pull the top dash panel and just disconnect the wires at the speakers and tape the ends or something.
