update!!! okay guys the builder got back to me right before I was about to tear it appart myself, I took the tranny back to him, we both took it apart on the spot, he showed me the billet forward drum and billet imput shaft and something else that was billet "i forget" so it seems to have alot...

guess I'm going to go on a learning curve, the builder is just not responding to my messages, and its been 2 weeks and nothing has been done. Well something is getting done today, I'm gonna yank the transmission apart my self, I've gotta run an erran. but ill be back in 4hrs, any guidance or...

3/8 aluminum tranny cooler lines to that cooler pictured above. Anything "wrong" with that setup?????

the motor infront of this tranny, also my very first engine build. On a side note, I also set-up the rear too, first with 3.73's didn't like them as much so I set up a set of 4.56's

whats wrong this this cooler I've been told this cooler isn't good enough for the 2004r? Maybe I'm asking all the wrong questions, the list seems to be very long on the can't do's of this transmission, so let me re-think and re-vamp....What can you do with this tranny?

man i read these forum posts and it just adds to my stress, all the bickering between venders...seems as though this 2004r could be considered the "most" problem tranny there is as far as hotroders and streetroders go....You can chalk me to the list.

update pulled the tranny pan off and put the stock pan on to lower it down and out of the car. "sludge" In the bottom of my aluminum deep pan i was scraping away with a razor. now I left the "sludge" in there for the builder to see. On a side note: this situation is getting me upset...

oh I forgot to add, tranny fluid smelt burnt, drained the tranny fluid the color looks black cherry with no particle chunks, fluid looked clean... what's the possibility that converter is still good and or the tranny fluid?

I had this guy in morgan town pennsylvania, build me a monte carlo ss 2004r using a kit from ck performance, that cost $1600 so he told me, he charged me $400 for the build a total of 2 grand. from what I'm told this tranny was supposed to have alotta "chet" done to it. also has a lock-up 3500...

Ill take the pan if you still got it.

does anybody have a list of parts needed to build a 2004r to handle a car producing 500-600 hp and tq?? it seems as though theres no-way around that expensive steel billet input shaft and foward drum, those two pieces alone are over 700.00
