Flex plate
No problems seen yet. Just putting some seals through it. I had a hard garage shift into reverse cold, so I wanted to look at the low reverse clutch. The wave plate it ok but the frictions are quite worn........to much clearance.- BuickSix

Waterdown. I don't think mine was bent, just low quality. I replaced it 15 years ago with a King-O-matic part sourced through work when the engine was rebuilt. With all the work I did at that time it was difficult to nail down the source of the vibration. What had happened was I was coming down...- BuickSix

I received my Amazon flex plate.....$100 Canadian dollars. Pioneer FRA-147. It looked good, the ring gear had more meat to it, less holes drilled into it, but it was also flat. My original one is long gone. I've compared the one in the car now with a NA flex plate. The ring gear definitely has high spots on it. Torque converter install
When it's in the pump all the way you shouldn't be able to get you fingers behind it. When bolting the bell housing bolts, the converter should be a good 1/4 inch off the flex plate.....if its against the flex plate before the trans is on the motor the converter is not in the pump all the way...- BuickSix

Flex plate
Is this the correct flex plate for my 87 LC2? I have a vibration, and this one seems warped and out of round. Also, are they 160 tooth or 153? This one is 160. When the starter turns it over it doesn't sound bad, but it doesn't sound good no matter how I shim the starter. Thanks.- BuickSix

It got a new chain, gears, lifters bearings, oil pump. Cam & crank were polished. Pistons reused. The flex plate was replaced at the time of rebuild. I find it unlikely that it is the wrong one....I could be wrong.....worth checking.- BuickSix

Reread the post.........I did compression test and leak down.........150 psi across 6 cylinders...+ - 5psi.- BuickSix

This issue started after the engine was removed for a rebuild. Just a stock rebuild, nothing fancy. The engine has always seemed to have a long crank before it fires but it was doing that before the rebuild. So the problem is a miss at idle that shakes the engine, its not a dead miss as it comes...- BuickSix
