Engine Smoking
My newly rebuilt 3.8 engine still smokes.I have had the turbo sent out 3 times and still no differnt.When i atake the turbo off there is no signs of oil any where in the turbo.Has anyone had a stock tin intake manifold gasket leak and suck oil into the intake ports? I just took off the intake...- drifterhp

1978 3.8 turbo engine smoking
After reading that acticle about the turbo needing the carbone type seal it still makes me think its the turbo.The reason i say this is the rebuilder told me he upgraded the seal to the piston ring type- drifterhp

When you drive the car for awhile then shut it off and let it sit for 5 or 10 mins you go and start it up again and it smokes a big puff out the exhaust and then calms down but when you start driving it you can still see it smoking- drifterhp

1978 3.8 turbo engine smoking
I have a 1978 buick lasabre the engine started smoking when you started it up and still smoked when driving so we got the turbo rebuilt.Put it on drove it around for weeks to clear the exhaust out still smoked.We then sent the turbo back again to get them to recheck it and they said everything...- drifterhp

1978 buick 3.8 turbo problems
Hello guys! I have a 1978 buick lasabre with a 3.8 turbo 4bbl engine.I'll try and make this as short as i can.Engine had a connecting rod noise and smoked out the exhaust.I have the engine all rebuilt now sent the turbo out also,and the carb is rebuilt also on my under the hood sticker it...- drifterhp
