Tom at Champion CNC ported and built mine. No egr ports at all. He loved these heads. He confirmed for me light to very light use. He treated them as new heads.
If you search you should be able to find the real story. I spoke with Dave Chase directly he never mentioned anything about blocks. He...
There was a member named David chase waay back that found and was selling what you may be referring to as “oil test heads”. I have NEVER heard anything like your dealership contact or anything negative at all. Search turbo buick.com and/or gnttype.org for details. They were calling them “stage...
Reset it. See if it moves around any by hand, reset, make sure it’s snug and see what happens. May be going out. May want to unplug ECM after before starting. Watch voltage as you go from idle to WOT (engine off) and make sure it’s smooth.
If your leaky “old” pump is the new version, then the $80 head should work fine for your backup. That’s what the new heads are intended for. But if the leaky pump is the old style pump, the new heads are not compatible. Call Julio if you have questions, he won’t steer ya wrong.
Should also...
Just my experience and what I’ve seen over many years. I have RJC FMIC and love it. Quality always seems good. My personal experience with the GN1 just wasn’t quite as good. I’ll admit it was a while ago and things could be different in more recent times. Lots of people have both. Really can’t...
Agree with TexasT. What made you think you were “running out of fuel” in The first place? Totally agree with power logger also. You’ve got champion irons and a nice street turbo no alcohol. Off the top I’d say start at 60’s. If you really want to retain the 42s gotta get wide band or power...
I’ve got an old (maybe 30++ years old!!) roll of gasket material….kind of a dense mat little heavier than cardboard cereal box which I have also used….idea from earl brown. But used many many times without issue.
You can try NATS?
Aren’t there places that repair them? Somebody here would know that. Are you sure yours can’t be repaired? Sure it’s considered “not good” by guys that want core?
Good luck.
Well that is shocking. Do you know history of the motor…has anyone been in there? Could this be leftover from an old “repair”. Otherwise…they look important. Somebody will know what those are from. Sorry I feel your pain.
Yep. Pump out all the alky and put in just enough of the blue stuff to start pumping thru. Then I just filler up with meth come spring. Water alone in there would be keeping me up at night too!
The fuel pressure is being logged in powerlogger and has always behaved correctly but I replaced pump and wiring anyway since it was old. I have measured and tracked fuel pressure with boost via PL extensively last season while trying to find my "false knock" problem. The fuel rail was cleaned...
