What type is used then? Without the damper? I was thinking of letting a shop remove that damper, weld the driveshaft to the correct length and then balance it.- Raxo

What about stretching it to correct length somehow and then welding it so it couldn't move away any more? Not recommended? It can go out of balance for sure...- Raxo

That driveshaft worked fine for two years or so, so it could be the original one. The differential end of the driveshaft is coupled to the tube by rubber. Some sort of vibration damper? Is that the only thing that's holding those two together? The rear axle and the engine mounts are fine...- Raxo

I was driving along at 50 mph and while accelerating a bit I felt that the car was more eager than usual. I figured it was still in 3rd gear. Ok, got my answers from here: 200R4 Rebuild And no reverse was caused by worn low/reverse clutch pack and/or blown low/reverse apply piston seal.- Raxo

ATSG manual says that there are no wave plates in the direct clutch pack (assembly part doesn't mention wave plates to put in) and two wave plates in the forward clutch pack. Hello! I recently lost reverse gear so I probably need a rebuild. Oil level is at max, TV cable moving freely. So it's the low/reverse clutch pack? It still has forward gears. When all was working there was a couple second delay and a whining sound when switching into reverse. Right now...- Raxo
