I have a 87 we4 that is ran by a xfi system.It was running fine then started lurching under light excelleration.If i mat it it spools up and rolls the tires.I took it to southeastern turbo and he said the motor is about to come apart and wanted $6000 to fix it and said if i wanted to sell it its worth about $4500 but its not using oil,knocking ,leaking and only has 55,000 miles. I brought it home and parked it and was doing some brainstorming because im about ready to try to fix it.He said he could move the flywheel a1/4 inch .If the motor is about to go then how would that cause the lurching and then under load for it to excellerate fine. it also idles like a top and sometimes stops for a few seconds .It started doing it a couple of times and on the next couple of times i took it out i had to limp it home.I think its something small .I cant get it out of the garage because i have a truck in the way If anybody has any ideas to my problem please let me know.
