    "Budget Roller" information needed plz

turbodave231 - That is exactly what I have done, however, it was much more $pendy than $20, I had to pay $67 to file, simply because the vendor is out-of-state, but since it was sent C.O.D. by mail order, the actual sale was considered to have been made at my door step when I handed the money...

    "Budget Roller" information needed plz

Thanks for all the responses!! I really do appreciate it. Well, as far as no race enigne parts warrantys, expressed or implied. My case is a little bit different than most I have heard. A well known parts vendor had extended me an Expressed Warranty - that they were selling me a hydraulic...

    "Budget Roller" information needed plz

Scott - Thanks for the response. Yes, I have searched the subject, however, it is still unclear if anyone had ever taken the matter through small claims court, or used other legal means to resolve. Or did Comp Cams ever do anything to fix the problems, damages, etc.? Much appreciated...

    "Budget Roller" information needed plz

I need to know more about this econo roller fiasco that had happened a while back. When did these cams first come out, and when were the first problems discovered? Also, after the first problems were discovered, and then brought to Comp Cams attention, how long did they continue selling them...

Just curious what all you guys do to keep internal engine clean during assembly

WOW! Now that is interesting stuff, I was gonna say overkill, but I don't think you can ever be too clean, so I'll just say extreme measures, ...always considered a good thing in this area though. I just put a light mist of WD-40 on the cyl walls and lifter bores to prevent any rust, but I...

Just curious what all you guys do to keep internal engine clean during assembly

Just kinda curious what you guys do to ensure that the cylinder walls, lifter bores, and oil galleys etc. are all clean of any misc debris. I have the engine on an engine stand, the pistons and rods are installed, and the heads bolted on. The crank was just polished, and the cam bearings...

hyd. roller lifters on a cast iron hyd roller camshaft??

This cam had a thrust bolt/button and bronze spacer in place from the very start. It didn't stop the cam from moving back, the pull from those angled lobes is what really was a contributing factor, probably got the grind on those lobes going, I would imagine. Thanks!! Robin

hyd. roller lifters on a cast iron hyd roller camshaft??

Neal - I'll be e-mailing you some pictures either tonight (2-24), or by morning at the latest. I sincerely appreciate what you are doing on this. I have taken this cam to three different machine shops, and two professional engine builders, and after looking at it they all had said the same...

hyd. roller lifters on a cast iron hyd roller camshaft??

Well, I've been looking everywhere for some information that is more geared towards the question of; What really determines when it is acceptable to use hyd. roller lifters on a cast iron hydraulic roller camshaft? If this is acceptable at all, with what valve spring pressures? From what I have...

Spring pressure ratings for various cams and applications?

Yeah, but by running steel hydraulic roller lifters on a cast iron camshaft, no matter what the grade of iron, would be inevitable destruction, given that the steel roller lifters are much harder than the cast iron. Especially if stiffer springs were used, 140# closed, and 340# open max. The...

Spring pressure ratings for various cams and applications?

Thanks for the response! I guess I should've explained myself a little bit better from the start. I have been looking for some information that is more geared towards the question of; What really determines when it is acceptable to use hyd. roller lifters on a cast iron hydraulic roller...

Spring pressure ratings for various cams and applications?

Hey guys! Can anyone tell me what is the general "rule of thumb" regarding recommended spring pressure ratings to use with different cam core alloys. In other words, where is the line drawn for this. I do realize that certain things such as lobe aggressiveness and lift height probably...
