    Intake manifold powdercoating question

It takes 650 degrees to anneal aluminium. https://www.prismaticpowders.com/learn/26/can-i-powder-coat-aluminum-wheels#targetText=Usually%20the%20debate%20is%20focused,at%20a%20much%20lower%20temperature.&targetText=Standard%20powder%20coatings%20cure%20at,averages%20about%2010%2D20%20minutes.

    Have anyone replaced stock springs.

I have AirLift bags on both my 70 Skylark and the GN. They are not fancy, cheap and work pretty good. With the AirLifts you can run a soft spring and adjust as needed. If going for the absolute best handling the best thing is straight wound springs. Also for absolute handling dump the rear...

    Have anyone replaced stock springs.

I just did a spring replacement with progressive springs. Lowered the rear of the car too much. When the springs settled it measured 26 inches to top of wheel opening and the progressive part of the spring was totally collapsed. Had to put in AirLift bags to bring it up. The Airlifts work well.

    Thinking about suspension upgrades.

Boxing the control arms. Good exercise for you and the control arms. A little time in the ring and you get a good workout. Stock control arms are pretty wimpy. They are sheet metal stamped into a u shape. By welding a top to the u the control arms become much stronger for not a...

    Thinking about suspension upgrades.

If you upgrade springs avoid progressive springs. Did that on our GN and not happy with them. Had to air bag them.

    Thinking about suspension upgrades.

Do not use poly bushings in the rear end! The GM 4 link was designed to have twist at the control arm ends provided by the rubber bushings. Most of the companies doing suspension part upgrades have control arms with spherical bushings designed for street use. The cheap way to upgrade rear...

    IAC adjustment with xfi

For some reason the computer was not reading the IAC in the graph. Working now and quite obvious. Making progress, thanks for the help.

    IAC adjustment with xfi

Thanks I will take another look. Is this like the "football" you see in the VE table?

    IAC adjustment with xfi

So I have my computer connected and go to view/idle functions/throttle follower. All that is there is a green line graph, no circle like you see in the VE tables. I know I am making some stupid mistake here. Just don't know what it is. (FAST XFI 2014)

    Will check this out. Thanks

    long crank to start

Thanks for the reply's. Battery is new and shows 14+ volts running. Will try the diagnostic tricks. It has fuel pump upgrade and fresh fuel filter. Crank to run is 400, revs is 10. Will up to 12 but agree that the air fuel is off.

    long crank to start

Since we switched to XFI (2.051) it seems to take longer cranking time before the engine fires. Going to check the crank sensor but what are good settings for cranking fuel table (60 lb injectors) and global setup parameters? Anything else? I know most GN's are not great at instant starts.

    kPa conversion table

Well that sucks. I tried to make it all line up to be readable and did not work.

    kPa conversion table

Since I am new to this kPa thing I worked on conversion to values that make sense to me. Please check and let me know if this look right. kPa table kPa psi manifold pressure 300 43.5 28.8 249 36.1...

    FAST XFI 2.0 idle

Took 3/4 turn out of the throttle blade opening and idle is now 750. Next is to get rid of excessive cranking to start.
