Found my problem
OK no takers on the question about a good machine shop. How about some help with block and crank casting numbers. The only numbers I found on the block is a couple of 3.8L stampings, a 4.1 stamp, 85,and 25524140. On the crank I found G 04 4,GM16,and 229. Would these numbers indicate the...- turbo nation

I finally got the engine tore down after finding low compression on cyls. 2,4,and 6. Kevin I got the engine loose today and the bearings looked like they were worn pretty good. The oil looked like it had not been changed forever so I think I will just go ahead with a rebuild if I can find a good shop close by. Most shops here are Chevy/Ford.
