    Getting Hot

So, once you make the switch to a front mount you will never see 160 again?

    Getting Hot

Ever since I put in my extreme front mount intercooler the car can no longer stay around 160 degrees. It has at times got up as high as 215 degrees, so I installed a set of dual fans. Even with 2 fans running now, it still will get up to 201 degrees sitting in traffic. Is there any fix for this...

Is it time to change oil viscosity?

160, but it goes beyond that since I put in the front mount intercooler. I have to put in some higher rate cooling fans to fix it.

Is it time to change oil viscosity?

I have a 1986 GN with around 108,000 miles on it. I'm using the factory suggested 10w-30 and have about 70 psi oil pressure when cold, but once it heats up the pressure drops to only about 17-18 psi. Should I switch to 10w-40 or 20w-50?

    Intake Manifold?

I already had switched over to studs and torqued to spec. Within a month the upper plenum was leaking again and when I took it apart 2 more bolt holes had stripped out and the aluminum was like powder. I then drilled out all the bolt holes and put in stainless steel inserts, put in brand new...

    Intake Manifold?

It's simple economics. Buying used is a good way to end up with the exact same problem which is something I want to avoid. I could buy used, install my upper plenum, and then find that those bolt holes have all stripped out, or broken off in a short amount of time and now I would be stuck with 2...

    Intake Manifold?

Too much money to spend right now. I took it out for a ride late Fall and the #5 cylinder stopped firing. I have to look into that come Springtime before anything else.

    Intake Manifold?

I'm still using it. I had to setup a clamping device to be able to keep using it. No way am I spending the ridiculous amount to replace it when just about every other engine made you can replace it for next to nothing.

ecuGN settings for 210 lb/hr injectors

Does anyone know what the settings in an ecuGN would be to use Bosch 210 lb/hr injectors?

    Cylinder 5 is dead

I'm hoping it's the injectors, if not I don't have the room, knowledge or equipment to pull the engine and rebuild it. I can only imagine the cost to have someone do it for me where most mechanics around me are already closing in on $200/hr. for labor. Plus, there is no one close to me that I...

    Cylinder 5 is dead

Yes, it is a stock engine with about 107,000 miles on it. The engine has to be pulled out just to change the cam?

    Cylinder 5 is dead

Wonderful, it looks like this may be getting parked for quite a while. Are the #5 cam lobes a known problem with the GN's?

    Cylinder 5 is dead

Wouldn't a wiped cam cause a lot of other issues?

    Cylinder 5 is dead

Instead of a spray pattern it did seem to just run out, but I figured it was because it wasn't under pressure. I guess I'll have to see how it runs after I finally get the new injectors installed.

    Cylinder 5 is dead

Yes, I used a noid light and it tested good, The injector itself now seems to work, I have compression, and I have spark. Just to be on the safe side I replaced the spark plug and wire and also checked with a test light to make sure it was picking up the spark. It's all very confusing to me...
