So i've got my car at a shop to see if they can figure out what's going on with it.
Car will run fine then start popping, and idling low, then eventually die. It will sometimes restart immediately and run poorly, or wont restart for 30 mins or so.

They heard a noise in the cam sensor and replaced it. The noise was the lower shim (washer) just above the gear eating itself.

After cam sensor was replaced it continued to run poorly and do the same things. They say it's shutting down half the coil pack when it acts up.
They swapped coils, no change.
I've swapped modules, ECM, chip, and a host of other parts.

What would contribute to half the coil pack shutting off at times ?

Pin M on the module intermittent? It powers the coils via the CCCI fuse.
Do they know it's a waste spark ignition?
Description of failure needs to be explained in detail.
Is half the coil pack shutting down 3 cylinders always at the same time?
I would check the crank sensor for damage, easy to do on a lift, reluctor ring tight on the crank pulley?

Thank you for the response. I'll ask more questions tomorrow and share your input. I have replaced the crank sensor.
