Ok, I have to ask. What trans/rear gear ratio would allow him to run up to 100MPH in 1st gear???

I really don't know. I am assuming it was 2.7?. I assume it was a 727 trans also? Here is a link to see the boat:

The story I heard is the police used them for a while as patrol cars but were too fast on top end and could not stop.

I do have a friend with a QMP turbo kit on his LS1 SS camaro and he passed me on the expressway at 70 blowing smoke off his drag radials. His car is wicked though. 700+HP and he's going for 1000ft/lbs. Only car i've seen destroy a spec 5 clutch in a week.

Even so... I've owned several g-bodies with 2.73 gears, and there's no way you could come close to 100MPH in first gear with them. I just don't see it?

My 67 Cutlass with a 330 v8 and powerglide shifts from 1-2 at about 70mph wot. This damn thing is a riot. If it has stock gears in it (I think it does) they are 3.08.
