OK I AM NEW TO THIS TTA THING.

I HAVE TWO OF THEM ONLY ONE RUNS, I NEED A MOTOR FOR THIS ONE.

SO WHAT IS A 409 BLOCK AND DO I HAVE ONE IN MY TTA89?

SOMEONE IS SELLING A 409. I NEED TO KNOW IF IT WILL WORK FOR MY TTA. I THINK THE PISTON ARE DIF TOO FROM A G/N ARE THEY NOT?

Hi Steve,

I hope you mean a 109 block and not a 409 block, big (pun intended) difference. Yes you can use a 109 block, the difference in the 2 blocks (109 and TTA) is, the TTA block is an after market block. The TTA block will have SG1 embossed on it at the bottom rear by the motor mount. If you want to keep your TTA as built by PAS you need to find an SG1 block. In saying that, the 109 is on both blocks. Some say that the SG1 block is stonger but, I have seen no proof of this. I believe Pontiac bought the 109 casting from Buick, so the are identical with the exception of the SG1 designation.
