Ive tried to search as much as i could before posting and found only bits and pieces so..... could i use a n/a 109 block for a turbo application with the exception of changing internals?
 
Yes. You'll have to drill and tap a hole in front of the block for the turbo drain line. Other than that it's the exact same block.

The fuel pump block off plate is an alternative to tapping out the block.

My engine uses a n/a block. There is one around here that even went 150+ mph.

An NA block. SO you got rid of the turbo:biggrin:
