Went to the boneyard today looking for the correct type 2 module/coils. I thumbed through a Hollander Interchange manual with some of the models I found on GNTTYPE that said which donor cars had the correct modules.....I took that coil number (Hollander number).... and took that as good. I determined that Hollander # 2167 was the correct delco coils. I paired that with potential Donor cars from the GNTTYPE list for the cars with the correct modules..... what I came up with was this:
These are some of the more popular cars fit the list on GNTTYPE for correct modules and combined with the Hollander manual info.... the correct coils.....
'86-92 Cierra and Century V6
'89-91 Calais V6
'89-92 Skylark V6
92 Grand AM V6
With that said... I went to the junkyard after work and ended up buying 2 coils/modules already off of cars.... (I had no tools and needed a module and was pushed for time) I bought 2 modules that appear to be correct.... except they are 13 pin.... I see a an old post that suggest that it should work... the 14th pin is not used anyway....but I am not sure....
The connector will connect up.....
Junkyard guy said we would work something out if they were wrong... so I chanced it....
Any thoughts?
